We know what it’s like to care for a family member. We understand the long days and sleepless nights, the endless to-do lists, and the mind-numbing fear that something could go wrong at any moment. Managing your loved one’s health care is one of the most important tasks of caregiving because of our broken healthcare system and the medical errors that threaten to harm patients every day, this task is incredibly challenging. Without formal medical training, it can be difficult to understand the medical lingo, communicate with doctors, and advocate strongly for your family member’s medical needs.
We help family caregivers navigate the complicated health care system so that you can:
- Relieve overwhelm
- Reclaim your time
- Ensure your loved one receives appropriate and effective medical care.
We believe that patients and family caregivers belong at the CENTER of every medical team and we are committed to making that a reality one client at a time.
About the Owner
Dr. Nicole Rochester is a Board-certified pediatrician with over 20 years of experience caring for patients and families. Her decision to leave clinical medicine in 2017 to launch Your GPS Doc, LLC was inspired by her own caregiving journey. Dr. Rochester and her two sisters cared for their late father for three years. Despite her wealth of experience working in hospitals and medical facilities, she was surprised at how difficult it was to get her father the care he needed and deserved. Ultimately, Dr. Rochester learned that her medical expertise and her influence as a physician were the key elements to being an effective advocate for her dad. In her role as an independent health advocate, Dr. Rochester ensures that other patients and family caregivers have that same advantage. Dr. Rochester is a healthcare navigation expert, with extensive knowledge of the inner workings of the healthcare system. She is also a speaker, author, and media contributor. Most importantly, she is a loving wife and the proud mother of two young adult daughters. Dr. Rochester is a passionate advocate for patients and family caregivers. She believes that health advocacy is her calling and is dedicated to using her personal and professional experiences to help others.
